Diabetes is a common chronic disease in the Arab world, especially Jordan, where it is 16% among people over the age of eighteen and more than half a million people, making Jordan among the top ten countries in the world in terms of diabetes and population, what is the disease Diabetes? What types? And its symptoms? And methods of prevention and treatments available?

Diabetes
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder that causes high blood sugar, either because the amount of insulin produced is inadequate or the cells of the body do not respond in the form of diabetes. Required for insulin or both. People with diabetes will have three major symptoms:

1. Frequent urination (polyuria)

2. Frequent thirst (polydipsia)

3. Frequent feeling of hunger (polyphagia).

The earlier diabetes is diagnosed and controlled, the lower the risk of diabetes complications
Types of Diabetes:
1. Type I Diabetes
Type I Diabetes This type is caused by the lack of insulin production, also called Insulin-dependent Diabetes, juvenile diabetes, or early-onset diabetes.
Patients usually develop this type early in their lives before they reach the age of 40, usually at the beginning of puberty and adolescence, and do not exceed 10% of all people with diabetes of all three types.

Patients with this type of diabetes must take insulin doses for life, and should maintain the appropriate level of sugar in their blood through periodic blood tests and follow a specific diet.

2. Type II Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes This type of insulin is also called Insulin independent Diabetes, which is caused by the fact that the body does not produce enough insulin for the required functions or that the cells of the body do not interact with insulin (insulin resistance).
90% of people with diabetes are of this type. It is possible to control the symptoms of type II diabetes by losing excess weight, following a healthy diet, regular exercise and periodic monitoring of blood sugar level. Unfortunately, the second type of diabetes develops for the worse over time and most likely the patient will need to take insulin in the form of tablets.
People with overweight and obese people are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes than others with healthy weights. People with high levels of visceral fat (or so-called mean obesity, belly fat or abdominal obesity) are particularly at risk. Weight gain / obesity leads to the body producing chemicals that affect the metabolic system and the cardiovascular system.
Being overweight, physically inactive, and exercising the wrong eating habits all increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Eating one pack of low-calorie soft drinks a day increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes to 22%, according to a study by Imperial College London researchers. In their research, high-sugar drinks Has a direct effect on the increased risk of diabetes and not only affect the body weight.
The risk of type 2 diabetes increases with age, researchers still do not know the direct cause of its association with age, but most scientific possibilities that the human with age tends to increase weight and less physical activity.
People with first and second degree relatives with type 2 diabetes and people from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia have a higher susceptibility.
Men with low testosterone levels are also more likely to be infected, according to research from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, where the study found that low hormone levels lead to body resistance to insulin.

Gestational Diabetes
Gestational Diabetes This type affects women during pregnancy. Some women have high levels of glucose in their blood and their bodies do not produce enough insulin to transport all glucose into their cells, leading to an increased rise in blood sugar.
Pregnancy diabetes is diagnosed during pregnancy, the good news is that most women with gestational diabetes can control their illness by following a healthy diet and exercise, but unfortunately 10-20% of them will need to take some medications that control their blood sugar. Undiagnosed or untreated cases of gestational diabetes increase the risk of complications during childbirth and the baby may be larger than normal.
Researchers from the National Institutes of Health and Harvard University have found that women who have pre-pregnancy diets with high levels of animal fat and cholesterol are more likely to have gestational diabetes than those who follow a low-cholesterol diet and animal fats.

What is pre-diabetes?
Most people with type 2 diabetes first develop pre-diabetes, a stage in which blood sugar levels are high but do not reach the proportions that characterize diabetes. In this case, the body's cells begin to resist insulin. Studies have shown that in pre-diabetes may damage the circulatory system.

Diabetes Metabolic disease:
Diabetes is classified as metabolic disease. Metabolism is the way our body uses digested food for growth and energy. Most of the food we eat is br
